SERVICE OF LENTEN COMMUNAL RECONCILIATION

Please join us on Thursday, March 18 at 7:30pm at St. Hubert's Church as we enter into Christ's loving and forgiving embrace through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  Prepare your heart and your soul for the Sacred Triduum and let Christ's healing and forgiveness prepare you for his Resurrection from the dead.

IMMIGRATION REFORM POSTCARD CAMPAIGN

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has launched a postcard campaign to Congress in support of immigration reform. It is anticipated that immigration reform could be considered in 2010.  In order to participate in the campaign, you may download the postcards that you would send to your congressional representative.  This is an important public policy issue, which affects individuals, and families, which attend St. Marcelline’s, and we encourage you to participate in the campaign. Please click here for a PDF of the postcards.

THIRD EDITION OF THE ROMAN MISSAL COMING SOON

http://www.usccb.org/romanmissal

The 3rd Edition of the Roman Missal (red book the priest celebrates Mass from) is in the final stages of approval from the Holy See. This edition includes, among other things, a new translation of some of the responses we, the assembly, say at Mass.  The priests will also see new translations to the Eucharistic Prayers, new prayers for the newly canonized, and new Masses and Prayers for Various Needs.

The Missale Romanum (Roman Missal), the ritual text for the celebration of the Mass, was promulgated by Pope Paul VI in 1970 as the definitive text of the reformed liturgy of the Second Vatican Council.  That Latin text, the editio typica (typical edition), was translated into various languages for use around the world; the English edition was published in the United States in 1973.  Pope John Paul II promulgated the third edition (editio typica tertia) of the Missale Romanum during the Jubilee Year in 2000.

The texts of the revised translation of the Roman Missal are marked by a heightened style of English speech and a grammatical structure that closely follows the Latin text, which was orginally used prior to Vatican Council II.

SWINE FLU: A COMMON SENSE APPROACH

At this point we are taking a common sense approach to this public concern.  If you feel uncomfortable with shaking hands with someone you suspect is ill, you are asked to refrain from that gesture.  In addition, if you feel uncomfortable with receiving from the cup, you are asked to refrain from that as well.  Receiving from one species (Body of Christ) is acceptable in the eyes of the Church. For more up-to-date information, please click on the following link to the Archdiocese Website: Swine Flu Information.

EXPOSITION AND ADORATION OF THE HOLY EUCHARIST

St. Marcelline Catholic Church holds weekly Exposition and Adoration of the Holy Eucharist, every Tuesday from 9:00 AM until 7:45 PM in the Family Room Chapel. Come and spend some time with the Lord in a quiet and contemplative atmosphere.  If you are interested in becoming a regular adorer, please call the Parish Administration Center to be put in touch with our Adoration Coordinators, Carrie & Bob Alexander.
