Ministry of Liturgy & Music

Closer to God Through Music and the Eucharistic Feast

The Music and Liturgy Program at St. Marcelline is a comprehensive ministry that provides parishioners the opportunity to minister through a wide variety of Liturgical opportunities.  Those who love to sing are invited to join our acclaimed Sanctuary Choir; those who enjoy the challanges of handbell ringing are invited to participate in our Jubilation Ringers, who are also a well-traveled and seasoned ensemble.  Those who wish to read at Mass can join our Lector corp, or those who wish to bring the Body and Blood to our assembly at Mass, or to our homebound parishioners are invited to our Eucharistic Ministry.  There are many opportunities to participate in ministry.  If you are being called by God to any ministry, email Marc Alan Brunelle, Minister of Liturgy & Music or call the Parish Administration Center at 847-524-4429.

Liturgical Ministries

You may take for granted when you come to church on Sunday or for a special event the various “extras” that make the Mass or service a meaningful experience. Greeters welcome you as you enter. Lectors proclaim God’s Word. Altar servers assist the priests and deacons during the celebration. Mass coordinators ensure everything goes smoothly.  Various musical elements bring the liturgy to life.

These are just a few of the groups that make it possible for us to have beautiful, faith-filled celebrations here at St. Marcelline. Called the Liturgical Ministries, the following organizations play an active role in enhancing the various worship services we celebrate throughout the year
